Country Holidays for Inner-CityKids, or CHICKS, is a charity with many large corporate sponsors. But some, such as Deutsche Bank, were uncomfortable with the charity’s choice of name, so they invited us to take up the naming challenge in an attempt to safeguard critical sponsorship funding. So we did, for free.
Naming workshops enabled us to get a sense of how much of a difference the charity can make to the lives of young children. We therefore recommended ‘Make’ as a strong identifier and supported it with various statements to reinforce the charity’s impact and importance.
The new name provided a fulcrum for targeted marketing collateral and reignited the support of many corporate sponsors.
The charity is now able to continue its important work; providing funfilled holidays for disadvantaged children from across the UK.
