Jazz isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but when it sounds like The Neil Cowley Trio, we just had to listen up.
Our challenge was to dispel the belief that independent jazz is the preserve of the minority and position Nu Jazz - a blend of jazz with funk, soul or dance music - as a music genre with widespread appeal.
We researched audience understanding and exploded the myth by creating a brand identity for the trio that completely broke with tradition. Using contemporary typography, reportage photography and a modern visual language we produced integrated collateral and a website where the music could be experienced and downloaded.
